How supercute are these? Instead of the regular banana split with so much sugar and calories, why not try my "skinny" banana split bites! ♥
Ingredients ♥
4 bananas, cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
4 ounces Nutella
1 small can of fat free whipped cream
1 small jar of sprinkles
1 can of maraschino cherries
1 cup of your favorite ice cream fat free low sugar frozen yogurt
Directions ♥
Choose bananas that are still slightly green. Cut the bananas into 1 1/2 inch pieces. Cut the pieces so that they form cylinders with even sides. Leave the skins on to avoid bruising and browning.
Remove the peel after you hollow out the banana pieces. Place in the freezer while you prepare for the next step.
Remove the hollowed out banana pieces from the freezer. Dip the bottoms of the bananas into the Nutella and then into a shallow bowl of sprinkles. Return the dipped banana pieces to the freezer while you prepare for the next step.
Remove the frozen yogurt from the freezer. Mix it well to smooth it out, almost to the consistency of frosting. Place the frozen yogurt into a plastic baggie. Cut off a small corner of the baggie, and pipe the ice cream into the hollowed out portion of the banana. Return to the freezer. You can prepare the Banana Split Bites up to this point. When you are ready to eat them, you can proceed with the next couple of steps.
Drain the maraschino cherries, cut them in half, and allow them to dry a bit on clean paper towels. When your guests are ready and waiting, remove the Banana Split Bites from the freezer, spray them with some fat free whipped cream and a (half) cherry on top. Enjoy immediately...♥

Be careful when carving the banana, use a melon ball scooper and just carve the center and not the bottom or the sides of the banana.
