"skinny" low sugar magic shell ♥

So the other day at the store I saw a blast from the past..magic shell ,you know the chocolate sauce that froze! Well I see why it wasn't in my household as a child.. because it is 17 grams of fat! and so full of sugar and calories! Well I got to thinking and I thought of nutella and the freeze magic is a healthy coconut oil!  So much healthier and instead of ice cream, try serving it dipped in fruit..enjoy!  ♥

1 13 oz jar of Nutella
3 heaping Tbsp coconut oil (coconut oil is a solid at room temperature, so measure when solid) this is what makes it freeze!
  • Put the Nutella and the coconut oil in a microwavable glass bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds. If the coconut oil is not completely melted, micro for another few seconds. Stir the mixture until it is completely smooth.
  • Pour into a jar with a tight fitting lid and store at room temperature until ready to use.
  • Stir to combine and then dip or drizzle as desired. The chocolate coating can be stored at room temperature for as long as you want. Simply reheat it if it solidifies.

I used Cuties the little seedless oranges, so easy to peel..I love these!!!

If you are dipping orange slices, dip them into the melted nutella mixture, and then set on a parchment or wax paper lined tray. When all of the fruit is dipped, place the tray in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes. Once the chocolate has hardened, transfer the oranges to an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to eat. They will keep this way for at least 2 days. Enjoy! ♥

***** One note: the type of coconut oil you use will affect how much coconut flavor comes through in your sauce. I used virgin oil, which is unrefined, and it has a very strong coconut flavor. If you want the Nutella flavor to dominate, use a refined coconut oil. Both will work, and both are delicious
