homemade russian tea ♥

I always remember when I could not fall asleep my grandma katrina would always make me homemade tea and we would talk for hours! ♥

1 ½ tbsp of loose black tea leaves
1 ½ cups of white sugar
8 whole cloves
Grated rind of one medium orange
Juice from 4 oranges
Juice from 1 lemon
Water (5 cups + 8 cups)

Start by putting the sugar, orange rind, cloves and the 5 cups of water into a kettle. Let it boil for 5 minutes and then strain. Let  cool.
You can already feel a breeze of that sweet aroma!

Now bring to boil 8 cups of water and add your loose black tea leaves. See how they gently unfold and dance in circles. Let it steep for 3-4 minutes and strain.

Remember the strained spices with sugar? Get them now and add them to your tea. Wait. Smell it. Now add the juices and behold that beautiful color!

Keep it warm and drink it. Enjoy!
